Prince and the New Hip Generation

February 25, 2008 persia

from ryhmeswithsnitch.com

Years of hip thrusting dance moves have taken a toll on Prince’s joints and at age 47, he has been told he needs a hip replacement. “He used to wear high-heeled boots every day and doctors told him that may have contributed to his condition,” said a source. “Over the years he has battered his body so much that his joints, especially his hips, are causing him a lot of discomfort.” The singer has been told that only a full hip replacement will alleviate the pain and ensure he can keep dancing.

damn.. i think i might need to lay off the heels daily…

oh yeah- good morning and welcome to the offical start of “Breathe In and Out Slowly So You Don;t Slap a Bitch” Season… after browsing emails from several people this morning and assessing my own mood, i feel today is a good day to open season on that LOL

So as it goes.. Neyo is really 29. It makes sense because he always came across kinda mature for 21 or 22. But gotdamn that hairline !!! Ain’t too much you can do about a receeding hairline and everybody knew he was balding cuz of the random hats but he look like he was on line at a local soup kitchen.

But he was on the radio a few weeks ago out here and admitted that Def jam lied about his age when he first came out but I think most of his fans are grown up so I guess it doesn’t matter anymore.

My cousin who lives in Dallas said that Obama came to speak there and it was CRAZY. She said the security was so tight, that had like 5 miles of freeways shut down along with over passes and, side and residential streets. She said that it was like JFK had came back to life or soemthing. People was waiting outside at like 2am to hear him speak at 12pm….

NEW Male R&B singers need to step their game up. It hasnt really been a good R&B album to me since Jamie dropped Unpredictable or hell Usher’s Confession.

    J. Holiday sucks, The Dream swallows, and Ne-yo can write his butt off but all his music sounds alike. The only song i like by him is Sexy Love.
Chris Brown is too young, but that “Popping” song is the ish.

Trey Songz is sexy lil thing and I like his new song… but he only gives one GOOD song off an album.

Mario-HAAAAAATED (in living color with the snaps)

Who in their right mind would turn away MICHELLE OBAMA? She is just as important to us as her husband. Her image and her views NEED to be heard.

‘just asking who made him the gatekeeper?’

    I’ll put it like this…

which journalist in the mainstream media has kept AA issues at the forefront?

    Tavis and Tom Joyner.

‘Obama couldn’t make it, he turned down Michelle’

And the flip side? Why couldn’t Michelle make is appearances in TX so Obama could show up?

Why not join via satellite? - Like he was supposed to last year, but skipped out on that too.

It’s not just about this year, but what happened last year.

‘and folks want to act like his event was some sort of “defining moment” that Obama needed to attend to confirm his blackness’

Not confirm HIS blackness. But to confirm his COMMITMENT to black issues.

    Why NOT show up?

Tavis is doing what he’s supposed to do as a journalist - ask those questions which are not being asked with a certain amount of objectivity and skepticism.

Not joining anyone’s bandwagon just because.

But I ask you this- do you think he would have turned down Bill Clinton for the same reason? “oh, you’re just the spouse…” I don’t think he would have.

And I don’t think Obama needs to go pacifying the black community at every turn- just because a black person makes a REQUEST does not mean that he is obligated to honor it to “prove” anything to anybody.

We are 12% of the population- yes, he is a part of our community, but he needs the other 88% to be president. So to me, leaving the 88% up for grabs in Texas to show (to whom, I might add) that he’s still down is stupid.

willy- its not so much that he couldnt have done all that… but my personal opinion (and God help me if i lose whats left of my ‘negro’ card for this)

i dont want to hear a caucus on black issues. i want to hear what we are doing to make the country better for all. honestly, (imho) the longer we hold on to the “plight” of black america, the longer we have an excuse to not excel. i’m not saying there arent issues, but making ita ‘black’ thing all the time is jsut counter-productive in my mind.

Im partly with you on this matter… Travis has been the ONLY one speaking on issues concerning blacks in America. “Our Agenda” as he calls it shouldnt be forgotten because thats how politician act once they get into office … they never come thru on what they say there are gonna do. Tavis is just saying this “If you want us to vote and come out for you…You better make sure you come thru for us” and I agree with that… But he cant just focus on the black folks its more out there than that. Obama is smart enough to know that the future of America is not going to be black and white thing. He knows that pretty much EVERYONE that is educated and smart and people that actually VOTE want change. Why keep harping on ‘black issues’. If America’s economy situation doesnt change black folks gonna have more problems than arguing about “why I got 10 years for selling one rock” You dumbass shouldnt be selling rocks anyway….

Tavis said he didn’t want surrogates, but the candidates themselves, so I’ll take him at his word.

Hillary DID show, so it’s moot.

‘the longer we hold on to the “plight” of black america, the longer we have an excuse to not excel.’

We wanna be ‘post-racial’ to elect a black president ? But we gotta vote for him cuz he’s black? Tavis asking him to show up at the SOTBU is ruffling too many feathers so now he needs to ’sit down’??

    The mind reels, once again.

The only reason why she was there was because she trying to stick pacifiers in people’s mouth so she can get the blacks back on her side.

She knows she bogus. She knows she has ran a dirty campagin and she knows that black people are smarten up and starting to realize that we dont need a white MASSA and his Mistress to lead us (even if they is cool in the community)

I love what’s going on in our county right now. You can just feel that change is about to come…

but then we need to talk about what “our agenda” is…I am very wary of letting anybody tell me “how all black folk feel” or “what all black folk should do now” because we are NOT a monolith, and I think that the activists and supposed black “leaders” sometimes forget that.

Class, age, economics play a large part in our perspectives, and although we might feel a certain connection with folks based on our skin, we have so many other variables that anybody who doesn’t conform or branch out is called on the carpet and told they need to conform in order to retain their “black” card, and I feel that is what Obama is experiencing in that case.

I’m not cool with that. :frown:
    ——–

Im partly with you on this matter… Travis has been the ONLY one speaking on issues concerning blacks in America. “Our Agenda” as he calls it shouldnt be forgotten because thats how politician act once they get into office … they never come thru on what they say there are gonna do. Tavis is just saying this “If you want us to vote and come out for you…You better make sure you come thru for us” and I agree with that… But he cant just focus on the black folks its more out there than that. An I dont want to see Hillary and Michelle debating…Thats just like Hillary not showing up and Bill Clinton standing in for her…fk that.

I mean honestly, how can anybody vote against any kind of universal health care plan but go gung ho for a fucking war. It just makes no fucking sense to me. You have lobbyists and big companies supporting who they want to according to money with no regard of the rest of the population. I don’t think there has ever been a president whose been elected with the common interests of the american people. For 100 years slavery was abolished but somehow, someway, parts of the country found a way to instill their own form of slavery ( jim crow, segregation). How many presidents served during this time ? How many presidents have served since crack hit ? How about AIDS ? How about the sorry ass education system in this fucking country. We shit on Fidel for his “atrocities” but he has the healthiest and most educated nation in the world. We blame Fidel for how poor Cuba was but what the fuck did we do to lift trade embargo since he’s been there. I don’t know the ins and ouots of politics but I know what is right and what is wrong and most of the shit that goes on in public office is wrong. Too many alterior motvied built into decisions. We as the voting public never know an elected officials motive because there is so much corrution involved. I don’t know why Obama doesn’t spin his “lack of experience” into his “lack of government ties and favors”. All experience means to me in politics is favors. Favors for a vote, favors for a donation, favors for an endorsement. The fake smiles and handshakes. I can’t get down with that shit. I can’t look at a midget and tell him or her that he will be tall one day. The American people are fucking stupid. They vote for dumb shit that has little to do with them like a fucking Iraq War and gay marriage.

Oh yeah… Please keep up on this black people because if they don’t find these fuckers guilty, we are plotting the NYC riots like nothing youve ever seen before. Al can march all he wants but I am gonna tear shit down.

I tell you what, I was with my ex for 3 years and that entire time I have never, ever felt this feeling. Its all the little things that this dude does.

He just makes me feel appreciated, accepted, understood, wanted, special, CALM…..

Hell he makes me not want to drink. Which is something that going to church couldnt even cure.

Last but not least…he voluntarily goes in MY kitchen and washes the dishes….

    That was all it took…

Plus when he kiss me my knees get weak and heart start beating triple times with thoughts of loving him on my mind. I cant figure out just what to do when the cause and cure is him….

    Ok I’m done! LOL!!!
