A 7-year-old-girl is being hailed as an “angel from heaven” and a hero for jumping in front of an enraged gunman, who pumped six bullets into the child as she used her body as a shield to save her mother’s life.
Alexis Goggins, a first-grader at Campbell Elementary School, is in stable condition at Children’s Hospital in Detroit recovering from gunshot wounds to the eye, left temple, chin, cheek, chest and right arm.

TMZ has confirmed that music legend and the former Mr. Anna Mae Bullock has died. He was 76.
Turner apparently died in his home in San Marcos, Calif., just outside of San Diego.
Sources close to the family tell TMZ he may have died in his sleep.
TMZ caught up with the R&B star back in May after the legend spent a night in jail after his bogus arrest over a recalled 1989 warrant.
Ike was married four times, most famously to Tina Turner. The famous singing duo had seven top ten R&B songs and famously divorced in 1978 amidst his constant abuse towards her.
Ike has four known children: sons Ike Jr., Michael, Ronald and daughter Mia.
The Recording Academy issued the following the statement about Turner’s passing: “There is no doubt that Ike Turner was one of rock and roll’s great architects with his genre-defying sound as an instrumentalist and bandleader … As a two-time GRAMMY® Award winner and recipient of The Recording Academy’s 2004 Heroes Award, Ike’s legacy as a groundbreaking pioneer in the music industry will never be forgotten.”

The group of thugs - including the son of a city firefighter - accused of savagely attacking straphangers celebrating Chanukah appears to revel in recklessness.
Photos from the suspects’ Facebook and MySpace Web pages show the pals making a mockery of violence.
In one picture, Joseph Jirovec - who is to start six months in jail in January for a 2006 hate crime - is pointing a weapon at the head of his friend Kimberly Babajko.
In another, the 19-year-old Babajko is the one playing with the handgun, and in a third, she is shown provocatively posing in lingerie.
In a fourth, she looks almost like someone else as she poses demurely in what looks like a floor-length prom dress. In many photos, the group flashes gang signs or their middle fingers.
Jirovec, Babajko and most of the others were charged with assault. The gang could face hate crime charges stemming from the Friday night fight on the Qtrain, but Jirovec denied it was anti-Semitic, saying his mother is Jewish. “We didn’t even know they were Jewish at the time,” said Jirovec, 19, who took prosecutors’ plea deal in September in exchange for admitting he assaulted two black men in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn.
“The whole hate-crime talk is ridiculous,” said Jirovec, who claimed two of the friends arrested with him are Jewish.
Ten people - eight men and two women - were arrested after the melee and charged with a slew of misdemeanors, including assault, menacing and inciting a riot. All were released without bail.
Cops are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime, though no bias charges have been filed.
The three friends who suffered multiple bruises and cuts allegedly at the hands of Jirovec and his group have no doubts the attack was religiously motivated.
“They said, ‘You dirty Jews, you killed Jesus on Chanukah, you should all die,’” said Maria Parsheva, 23, a Baruch College student.
Parsheva said she and her boyfriend, Walter Adler, also 23, are half-Jewish and were celebrating Chanukah at a Manhattan bar with Angelica Krischanvich, 21, and Nick Rosenbaum.
They carried a menorah and dreidels as they boarded the Qtrain at Canal St. bound for Brooklyn, Parsheva said.
On the train, they said Jirovec, Babajko and their friends loudly yelled “Merry Christmas” - and became infuriated when Krischanvich responded, “Happy Chanukah.”
“[One woman said,] ‘You can’t say that, we are Catholic,’” said Krischanvich, a Hunter College student who is not Jewish. “That’s when two guys stood up and showed us their Jesus tattoos,” she said. “They started yelling at us and telling us we have no savior.”
“I started to yell back when one of them spat in my face,” Krischanvich said. “I didn’t let it bother me, and I told him, ‘Jesus turned the other cheek,’ and that is when the fight started.”
Parsheva said one of her attackers pulled a knife and smiled wickedly as he waved it near her face.
A good Samaritan tried to break up the fight and was injured. Adler yanked the train’s emergency break, and cops made the arrests at the DeKalb Ave. station.
Though Jirovec was given just six months behind bars and five years’ probation for pleading guilty to the 2005 felony assault, the plea deal says he could get up to seven years if arrested again.
“I’ve made mistakes,” said Jirovec, whose father, Joseph Jirovec Sr., has been with the FDNY for nine years. “I want to turn my life around.”
Another suspect, 19-year-old Zachery Rogalski, was charged in a 2005 attack on black youths in Marine Park. Babajko declined to comment. At her family’s home, her brother also refused to speak to the Daily News.
Many civic leaders are worried that the number of hate crimes - and anti-Semitic incidents, in particular - are increasing throughout the city.
“The whole thing is sickening,” Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said. Hate crime complaints in the city had surged by 20% compared to a year ago by Nov. 30, the last day for which NYPD statistics were available.

“I said, ‘Dad, these guys are coming here to kill me,’ ” Aaron White, 20, testified before a riveted courtroom in Riverhead, LI.

White said the five teens, who falsely believed that he had threatened to rape their female friend, spewed vicious racial slurs at his terrified family outside his Miller Place home in August 2006

Aaron’s father, John White, 54, is on trial for the shooting death of one of the teens, Daniel Cicciaro, 17, of Selden.
Cicciaro and four friends went to the home to confront Aaron because they believed he had threatened their female friend with rape in an online chat room, a claim that turned out to be bogus. The female pal has already recanted that claim in court.
Prosecutors argue John White, who is being tried on manslaughter and gun raps, shot Cicciaro intentionally. His lawyers claim his pistol fired accidentally after a struggle with the teen.
Escorted into court by a phalanx of bodyguards and wearing a bulletproof vest, Aaron White spoke nervously but firmly as his mother gripped a small picture of Jesus in the court gallery.
“My dad is a skinny man, and there are five guys out there,” White said of the confrontation. “I didn’t want him to lose his life. I love my dad.”
Showing emotion for the first time during his three-week trial, John White held his head in one hand and looked down at his table while his son spoke.
The son’s words also led his mother, Sonia White, to break down in tears.
Aaron White, the first witness to be called by defense lawyers Paul Gianelli and Frederick Brewington, told jurors the bogus online threats that set the tragedy in motion were made without his knowledge or control.
Trouble flared, White testified, when he was asked to leave a party both he and Cicciaro attended the night of the killing. Without asking for a reason, White said he left quietly and went home.
Cicciaro was later told of the supposed rape threats at the party and grew enraged, White said.
“Get back to this party, you f- - -ing n- - - - -, so I can kick your f- - -ing ass,” White recalled Cicciaro yelling at him during a phone call.
When Cicciaro and his friends converged on his home minutes later, White said, he woke his parents to tell them of an impending attack.
When he and his father emerged from their home with guns, White said, they were hit with the torrent of racial abuse.
“I’m going to f- - - you and your mother,” Aaron White said Cicciaro told him.
Cicciaro’s pals have denied using racial slurs during the standoff.
The showdown continued, White said, and Cicciaro crept around his father as he retreated and attempted to grab his dad’s gun.
It fired, White said, and Cicciaro fell. He died at a nearby hospital.
The reaction from Cicciaro’s family and friends was quiet but telling, as they rolled their eyes and shook their heads as White spoke.
Aaron White will be cross-examined today…
