I remember when I saw Solange at the concert I was promoting at TSU back in 04′. She was making a scene cause security agressively moved her out the way cause people started fighting and they didnt want her to get trampled. She was like look at my arm. they but bruises on my arm. My love for Shakira remains strong- I haven’t LOVED her like I did when her hair was black and she actually wore clothes while performing, but I still love some Spanish Shakira.
And I don’t know about white artists supposedly stealing black music…maybe that would be more true, but in the age of BET/MTV/ MuchMusic/ The Box/ 50-11 music channels on digital cable and satellite, I think that people are exposed to a wider variety of things than they used to be. I just finished re-reading this book. He stopped hating the white man, before he died but the new organization that he was trying to set-up still didnt accept whites in it.
