My Weekend

September 24, 2007 Chevy Ced 23 comments

I hope everyone here had a good weekend. I hoped you did everything you wanted to do this weekend.

My weekend was crazy. I got off work Friday at 5. I’m getting a phone call to come to Atlanta at 5:15 to meet Jason Geter, that’s T.I.’s manager. Got to Atlanta around 9:30. Was supposed to meet with this cat at 10, but this dude ain’t show up til 11. The hour wait wasn’t bad, but when you decide to call a meeting with someone driving from out of town, try to have your ass in place. But I talked to this dude about some management strategies, so the knowledge was worth the drive/wait. And cjp, how come you never told me how hype that club, The Ritz, is off Old National? If you’re in Atlanta (the College Park area), check it out.

Saturday found me getting back in Savannah at 1. I now know that I have the stupidest luck possible. It was 80 degrees here with no clouds in the sky. How the fuck did a tree fall on my apartment? In the middle of the fucking day…a tree falls on my apartment…while I’m in the bedroom getting head. How can it get any dumber? My paranoid ass was thinking that it was somebody kicking in my front door. I knew it wasn’t police, cause I didn’t hear all the “freeze…don’t make a move…get on the ground” type shit. So what do I do? Grab the SK out the closet and let loose 22 rounds into the bedroom, kitchen, and living room walls. Terrible. When the landlord, fire department, and police came, all they could tell me was ‘damn’. I know…terrible…I must get better. And old girl was bout her shit too. She grabbed the .9mm and let loose one or two shots as well. Gangsta bitch indeed. And I learned from the last lesson, renter’s insurance is a MUST. Good thing I had it.

I ran into that nigga Juvenile Saturday night. I like dude and all, but he’s about washed up. Cool nigga either way. I was in his ‘Ha’ video back in the day, and that nigga still cool as shit. And for what it’s worth, he said out of HIS mouth, that the Hot Boys will be getting back together. I’ve heard Wayne and Baby say it, but I don’t believe them dudes. And I don’t believe Juvenile either. I gotta hear B.G. say it for me to believe it all the way.

I went to church Sunday. And let me say this…the baddest broads in Savannah aren’t in the clubs. They’re in church. And the message was that women need to learn the difference between submissive and letting men run over them. Good shit preacher man. Tampa Bay won yesterday, tying us for 1st place in the NFC South. If we beat Carolina next week, I think we’re playoff bound. Brett Farve is the shit, fuck what you think. The Eagles looked crazy as hell with them old school jerseys on. But I got a pair of AirMax that fit with that jersey so well. And I won $75 on the Bears-Cowboys game.

And who has ever threw up while they were having sex? I haven’t either, but this broad last night did. I’m hitting her from the back…she says she feels me all the way in her stomach…about two minutes later, she’s throwing up. I guess I moved some internal organs around too much. *self high-five*

What the fuck did y’all do?

I think i understand what she is trying to say …but still.

ANTM winner and D-List ho Adrianne Curry recently wrote on her Myspace blog:

This is gonna be hard guys. I LOVE the comedians on BET. I also LOVE the fact that they play my favorite show of all time, In Living Color. However, I do not believe in seperating ANY RACE in America. WE ARE AMERICANS! How dare we have Black History Month! In my eyes, the Native Americans deserve it MUCH more, seeing how we destroyed their ENTIRE SOCIETY. There are hardly any of them left! They also have been proven to have the WORST living conditions on their reservations. I want AN AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH. One where we learn about EVERY race, ALL OF OUR LEADERS, EVERYONE! I think by having a month dedicated to one race, and not one for any other, is RACIST. Every fund set up to only help people of one race is SICK and RACIST.

Yes, I get it. Black people were slaves here once. You know what? That does suck some major balls, however, it is time to move the fuck on. Do we hear the Jews crying that they were made slaves for thousands of years? Do we hear them whine that they should OWN the pyramids in Egypt because THEY broke their backs making them? Do we hear them bitch and moan about Hitler, etc? (my hubby is a Jew)Nope, we dont. It’s time for us to UNITE AS ONE. I do not think that singling out one race, giving one race opportunities to go to college (I know a TON of poor white.asian, indian, american indian, etc etc that could use that too!), giving one race the EXCUSE to blame things on others for being whatever nationality they are, is a good way at making sure we NEVER kill racism.

I am over this shit. WE ALL CAME FROM ONE BLACK WOMAN FROM AFRICA, THAT is our EVE! It has been proven by science, and I stand by it. If any other race had a chanel dedicated to just them, we would think it was racist. If any other race demanded a month be set aside for ONLY them, they would be considered racist. I am NOT living by this double standard any longer.

Think I am racist? I am not. I know what racism is. I dated a guy named “Justin” in Junior high. Nothing serious, but I really liked him. He was the blackest of black…BEAUTIFUL skin, kinda like Alex Wek’s. He was handsome, and athletic, etc. I was called a nigger lover. But you know what? I was called that by a whole 2 people out of a school with HUNDREDS of students. THAT is why I am NOT buying this racist shit anymore. Let us teach or children that there is NO DIFFERENCE! We are all human. I hope one day aliens land and try to kill us. Maybe THEN we would finally realize that WE are ONE.

So, I will no longer tune into BET. This is going to suck, but I do NOT like the idea of having a chanel for only 1 race. In the year 2007 in a country that is supposed to be the most advanced and equal. This is unexceptable! I will also no longer acknowledge Black History Month. Instead, I will see it the way that Morgan Freeman does (I have the quote at the bottom of my last blog on Obama/jesseJackson, and OJ). AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH! I will read/watch/and learn about ALL the people who made a difference in this country.

I am asking you ALL to join me. Black, White, Indian, Asian, Russian, Australian, etc etc…..lets be AMERICANS together! What happened to the African American community was AMERICAN HISTORY, not BLACK HISTORY. If you want to celebrate in a way that excludes others and singles one race out, count me the FUCK out! I am soooo proud to be an American. I am SO proud that I have friends of every race, and none of us see each other as anything but what we are..people. Lets change Black History Month to 2 months of AMERICAN HISTORY. We will still learn about all the black leaders and people who made a difference….just not with the racist name of “Black History Month”. It has to start somewhere. I am going to do my part in making sure we are all treated EQUAL in a country that CLAIMS we are. NO MORE SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR ANYONE WITH ANYTHING!

It will never happen. At least, that is what many of you will say…FINE! My number one priority here is being able to die and know that I stood up for what I believed in, and that I did not add to the SEPERATION OF AMERICANS!! I love my country, I love the people in it. I love our history, good and bad. We should LEARN from it,not dwell in it and not move forward. That’s why I am done with this shit. You are all my brothers and sisters…..even if I think you suck ; ) As Bono said, “One life, with each other..sisters…brothers!”

now, have fun burning me at the stake ; )

Models are known for a lot of things, doing coke, starving, throwing up food, but being smart is not one.

Some thoughts as I walked around the streets of Philly like Common in “The People” video…

Because I’m still unemployed  I have time to kill while waiting for these fucks to call a nigga back. Being in an empty house means you start getting into the snacks…so fuck it…I’m a go downtown and take a walk. What passed through my head as I walked?

*A lot of people wearing black, supporting the Jena 6 cause. I wonder if they realize this type a shit happens EVERY DAY (no Slick Rick) in the South. Right now there’s probaly a Shreveport 3, a Mobile 8, and a Talahassee 4…I’m just sayin…

*That’s a lot of muhfuckas going into one town to protest…ain’t enough bathrooms…but as much money as people spent…bail perhaps (Ihadno and Willy using common sense) or even the defense fund would have done good too.

*I love this broad in front of me wearing this tight black shit…she’s supporting the cause by smuggling two of the Jena 6 in her blouse and two more in the back of her skirt…black power!

*Philly offers more free Wi-fi hotspots than any other major city in the U.S. (when they work), but why is the only one you have downtown in Love Park where the homeless people and pigeons (and homeless pigeons) congregate? Is this toothless nigga gonna ask can he check ebay for TV boxes? Is this crazy bitch with the blanket gonna ask me to burn a copy of that new Keyshia Cole?

*Donovan McNabb…can’t win for losing ol Mr Potato Head ass nigga…The true cracka ass cracka has come out of some of these Eagles fans, and the worst thing you could do is…lose. Yes…you actually hear white folks on the streets now saying “he shoulda kept his mouth shut”… White sheets in the Pro Shop at Lincoln Financial Field by October.

*So I bump in to Twin (who sends her “hellos”…and as we stand on 13th street, we notice that 1 out of every 3 chicks that walk by is pregnant. Damn. She decides to not drink the water and I decide to wrap my dick in mothballs and send it to a fallout shelter until this boils over. I’m scared to dance at the club now…

*To the assholes who thought it was cool to bring back that 80’s shit with them box fades…cut that shit out. Too many GROWN ASS MEN in their 30’s and 40’s boxin that shit out up top. How did you feel in 1987 when your old ass uncle came over with that box fade with the blonde shit dyed in? An ass right? Think about your kids, cuz…go to the caesar and play your Eric B and Rakim remastered CDs like the rest of us.

I know Willy will already hate it, but here’s that Jay-Z Blue Magic jawn …I hope he doesn’t go overboard with the drug references…it’ll be like 50 shooting 10 nigga too many on Curtis…

De La Hoya did WHAT?!?!

ok, i dont know who knows already (or cares for that matter) but this shit was hell funny to me being as i have a friend who swear up and down she gonna marry this dude. for the credibity of those at owrk (and those that just dont want to see in on the refresh), the pics will be @ the bottom… but here is the scoop on them first:

When I saw these pictures yesterday I decided to wait until more of the story came out before I posted them, I’m glad I waited. These pictures of boxer Oscar De La Hoya were allegedly taken by a stripper from Scores West in NY. She swears up and down that Oscar likes to role play and pretend that he was a girl named Goldie. She says he would fly her and a gang of friends around for sex parties. “They’d meet up in hotels, where the party could go on for days. There was a lot of tequila. It involved men and women. They indulged his every whim and taste. “He wore size 9 ladies shoes. He also liked wearing thigh-high nylons. He liked sex games. He and the girl would sit in a chair that they’d pretend was a motorcycle. He’d pretend he was the girl on the back of motorcycle. She’d be the guy. He’d grab her around the waist and squeal, ‘Faster! Faster!” Oscar’s people say it’s photoshop, of course.

QB Fundamentals

Keesha AKA KSH 164 comments

So is McNabb’s point legit or pure bullshit?

I would have to raise my hand for LEGIT.

Three Examples:

Washington Redskins gives Jason Campbell 2 to 3 starts to see if he is worthy of the top spot… - 2 or 3? How many would an Alex Smith or Brady Quinn get you think?

Joey Harrington sucks…but not on his own - the offensive line does not protect him. He does not stand a chance in the pocket. Duuuuhhhhh didn’t we try to tell you this when Vick was QB? I know we did, but that was not the case. All the analytical football pundits made sure that the reason the Falcons were losing was b/c of Vick’s lack of leadership at the QB position - had nothing to do with the old antique offensive line.

Eli Manning is HURT so any mistake he makes is blamed on his poor shoulder - lack of talent never crosses the mind of espn or sports illustrated; but McNabb a vet, a injured guy, post surgery - just does not have what it takes anymore - it has nothing to do with his surgery, right? Riiiiiggggghhhhhtttttt.

McNabb made a good point. Even in mediocre jobs monorities (esp Blacks) have to perform at a much higher level b/c you are under more scrutiny than your white counterparts; if you don’t believe that - sell me a ticket to Fantasy Island where you vacation!

Donovan McNabb walked off the podium in the middle of a press conference Wednesday.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Donovan McNabb smiled when a reporter asked for his opinion on the upcoming opponent and pumped his fist when the next question was about his poor start.

Once the topic switched to McNabb’s comment about black quarterbacks, his mood changed quickly.

In a bizarre interview that ended with McNabb walking off the podium at the Philadelphia Eagles practice facility Wednesday, the five-time Pro Bowl quarterback reiterated his statement on HBO that black QBs face greater scrutiny than their white counterparts.

“It’s just reality,” McNabb said. “It’s something that I’ve been a part of and other quarterbacks before and after me have been a part of. Did I expect any backlash? Yeah. Everything I say, I expect backlash from it.”

McNabb displayed a variety of emotions while getting peppered with questions on the race issue. He was perplexed and defensive — and looked more uncomfortable than he does standing in the pocket on his surgically repaired knee under a heavy rush.

“People are trying to dig too deep in this whole situation,” he said. “I wasn’t pinpointing particular people. What I said was the fact that we (black QBs) have to do a little extra. No matter the style of play you’re displaying, there’s always going to be criticism.”

Asked if any quarterback was criticized more than Chicago’s Rex Grossman last year, McNabb said: “I wouldn’t know.”

He then mentioned Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, Hall of Famer Steve Young and Jake Plummer.

“I never said Peyton doesn’t get criticized. I never said Carson doesn’t get criticized. I never said Tom doesn’t get criticized, because they do,” McNabb said. “They talked about Peyton not winning the big game. They talked about Tom Brady and his baby and girlfriend. We get criticized a little differently.”

Pressed for specific examples, McNabb pointed to being a running quarterback.

“Nobody ever talked to Steve Young about the running quarterback situation and Jake Plummer,” he said.

McNabb has always been sensitive about being labeled a running quarterback. He considers himself someone who passes first and runs only out of necessity.

“You wouldn’t ask somebody else the questions we get asked,” McNabb said, declining to reveal those questions.

The 30-year-old McNabb is in his ninth season with the Eagles after being selected with the No. 2 pick in the 1999 draft. He’s one of six black starting quarterbacks in the NFL. The others are David Garrard of Jacksonville, Vince Young of Tennessee, Steve McNair of Baltimore, Jason Campbell of Washington and Tarvaris Jackson of Minnesota.

“Black or white quarterbacks, we all go through something because that’s the life of a quarterback,” Vince Young said Wednesday after Titans practice. “You’ve got to be able to handle all the pressure. You’ve got to be able to handle the losses. You’ve got to be able to handle the media. If you can’t handle it, you’ve got to get off that position and go play something else.”

Young is the third black quarterback to start for the Titans franchise. The team won a bidding war to sign Warren Moon to a contract in 1984, drafted Steve McNair with the third pick overall in 1995 and selected Young in the same place in 2006.

Young said he respects every quarterback in the NFL and that everyone is entitled to his opinion.

“That’s not my fight to fight. Right now over here the Tennessee Titans, we’re trying to go to the playoffs. I can’t worry about all the other stuff going on,” Young said.

Less than 10 months since having surgery for a torn knee ligament, McNabb wasn’t sharp in Philadelphia’s first two games. He’s completed just 54.4 percent of his passes for 424 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His passer rating of 68.8 is 24th in the league. And he’s not scrambling like he used to because of the injury.

McNabb misfired badly on some throws against the Redskins, though he played better in the fourth quarter. Fans booed him during the game and some are even calling for rookie Kevin Kolb to be the starter.

The interview on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” took place in August, but was broadcast Tuesday night.

“If a question is asked, I’m going to answer it,” McNabb said. “I didn’t bring it up. The interview wasn’t about black-white issues, it was about my life. I didn’t do the interview 30 minutes after the game. The tease everybody has seen, they blew it way out of proportion.”

Eagles coach Andy Reid said McNabb’s comments aren’t a distraction for an 0-2 team that entered the season with high expectations.

“I don’t think anybody’s worried about that,” Reid said. “They’re worried about playing the game. That’s where our focus is.”

Several teammates declined to discuss the matter, though All-Pro safety Brian Dawkins supported McNabb’s comment.

“On a whole, that’s a fair assessment,” Dawkins said.

1.   http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20844553    —— ??????

1a. I would pay to see this nigga fight on Pay per view.

1b. How did he “drive” away ??? …. in his own car ?????

2. Lets rewind the time about 2 to 3 years ago….. FOR THE BLACK QUARTERBACK….. we had McNabb,Cullpepper,Micheal Vick, Aaron Brooks was still relevant, Byron Leftwich looked like he was gonna be a force to reckon with just to name a few. Now its 2007 and check that landscape again….. run nigga run…..!!!!

3. Not for nothing…. why didn’t anybody BAIL OUT the jailed Jena 6 victim ? He was never denied bail as far as I know and all this hub bub….. none of these attention grabbing mongers could pony up 90K ??? I hope there is an expanation for this :o(

4. Women. please !!!! ponytails all day…… That “bang” shit ?…. get it outta here. Piling on layer after layer of cheap weave?… out the door. You got hair down to the bottoms of your ears?…. work it out.  We want to see your face… from your shiny ass foreheads to your pointy ass chins.

5. Is there really heaven for a gangster ?

6. Boy oh boy…. we can march everytiime a caucazoid does something to us but evertime a black does somthing to his own, we turn the other way and act as if its normal…. tsk tsk tsk.

7. As I look at the personal landscape around me… freinds and foes alike… I realize that black women do a better job of raising “MEN” than black men do…. just my opinion though.

8. Watching Hannity and Colmes always brings me back to reality.

9. I’ve been up  for 4 hours and 3 of those ours were spent thinking about pretty feet and cooch… I have a problem that I refuse to correct.

10.  “Yo weed got mo seeds than ODB”

11.  We love OJ.

12.  The best dance of all time is a tie between the wop and the running man. Moonwalk came in third because its hard to do on dirt and you can’t “moonwalk” down steps.

13. Rich people have issues also.

John Ridley over at huffingtonpost.com **Same nigga that shitted on Al Sharpton during the Imus situation**

OJ Simpson never was the “carrier of our dreams.” Not mine. What he is, is nothing more than an arrogant wife beater who graduated to murder before devolving into a petty crook. And anyone who tries to find more meaning in him isn’t uplifting the race, just debasing it.

It’s always a nigga getting worked up over another nigga.

Jeez.

It’s hard to articulate exactly what I’d like to say in regards to this…

“Hurt” My Morning Coffee…

Keesha AKA KSH 10 comments

Being that TIP is my dude and “Hurt” is one of my favorite tracks on TI vs TIP - I am glad to see the brother looking so fly and looking like TIP - the overall CD was just okay. A few songs were pure soft and I don’t really see him like that. I like the “I’m Serious” or “Trap Muzik” TIP - so I will take this one for the team. The CD version of “Hurt” has Alfa Mega and Busta Rhymes - not sure if the video will have Busta - but the song is good look. Me likes!
