Democratic 'centrists' are a plottin and a plannin our collective futures. By way of a compromise between the House Ways and Means committee (chaired by Charles Rangel), and the Bush administration on a proposed FTA (Free Trade Agreement) framework for future FTA deals with other countries (Peru and Panama in this case).

Why do I care willyj?

I'm not exactly sure 'why' you and I should sweat the details about these two particular countries, and the concessions made to come up with this new 'framework' (interesting as it is).  I suppose part of my interest in this particular issue is that this deal was cooked up in 'secret' amongst members of the Democratic Leadership and Bush administration officials.

By 'Democratic Leadership' I mean members of the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC).

By 'Bush administration officials' I mean liars and thieves.

Here's the 'rub', so to speak.(Aside from a much longer discussion on Democratic priorities)

It's the patronizing and hollow response from Democratic supporters of this 'secret' deal, that has me puzzled.

Why, cuz there's niggaz involved.  Why else? Cuz these niggaz are tryin to sell us some bullshit.

It starts, with this Op-Ed by Harold Ford.

'Our country's problem isn't immigration or trade, It's uneven prosperity. Searching for scapegoats and stoking feelings of victimization is the wrong answer.

What's needed is a new approach based on new economic realities that appeals to the inherent optimism, not the worst fears, of hardworking Americans and prepares them to compete in an economy that will only become more global.'

What in the fuck does that even mean, Harold?

Immigration isn't an economic problem?  Or just a plain ol problem in general?

Yes it is, Harold. On multiple levels. Local, State, and Federal.  I'm not talking about the paleoconservative nuttiness of a Pat Buchanan.  Or 'fearing' that Mexicans are gonna take all the jobs.  Breathe all my clean air.  Though I will just toss this out…there ARE a finite number of jobs to go around folks.  Unemployment is a 'feature' of capitalism, not a 'bug'. Someone's gotta be poor for someone else to be rich, to put it simply.

Playing on a citizen's 'inherent optimism' of attaining the 'American Dream' seems like a cheap sales tactic to me, when substantive issues are downplayed for the purpose of corporate interests.  And please trust, whatever 'deal' they made, corporations will see the benefits of this deal before you and I will.

And how trade isn't a problem, when part of the DLC's policy agenda DEALS WITH TRADE INEQUITY, seems just a tad bit inconsistent.  Doesn't it Harold?

'Low American savings rates, the spike in energy prices, and low Asian currency rates have combined to raise U.S. trade and current-account deficits to very high levels.'

Our trade and account deficits are at 'very high levels' yet Harold describes bringing trade up as 'old populism', instead of REALITY.

Oh boy…

a long drawn out rant about capitalism and economics is something I'll save for a later date. But Harold, and the DLC kinda scare me right now.  Like, they don't know what the fuck they're talking about.  Or instead, decided to send Harold out to defend their actions with this crap.  And it is CRAP.  Lots of vague statements, feel good, 'stay positive' CRAP.

And while some of the DLC's ideas certainly 'sound' good. I think I'm more troubled by what they're NOT mentioning as a part of their platform.(and by extension Hillary Clinton, and other notable Democrats)  And the feeling that Democrats are 'scared' to openly challenge the neocon agenda. (to call a crook a crook, a traitor a traitor, a liar a liar) Or that the Democrats are in fact a PART of the neocon agenda.

The devil is in the details, ladies and gentlemen.  And I'm afraid Democrats know that too, which is why they aren't being very forthcoming giving any.

What The Hell Be Going On At Eddie Murphy's House?

1.  My 5-yr old daughter is not only ambidextrous, she's also the tic tac toe champion of the world, and "Princess of the Stare-down" second in the nation only to me.

2.  My son is nine.  He has a job, an active bank account, holds doors open for me and sits up til 2am with me on weekends watching TV shows he hates, pretending to be interested just so we can kick it…. how is my son the man I cant find in a size "grown"….. Does anybody else see where Im going with this???? LOL

3.  My mother gets on my nerves.  REGULARLY.  Im always mad at her around Mother's Day and think "I aint gettin her shit," LOL.  But now I know that the best way to get back at her - without the "she aint get me nothing" stigma - is to buy her something I know she cant fit.  That way I get to keep it and she cant say I didnt try.  (Yeah its mean, but I dont really care right now LOL)

4.  Almost 6 years after the tragedy, "United 93" is still one of the hardest movies to watch.  God forbid I ever find myself in that situation, but Lord, have mercy on the men responsible if I ever do.

5.  No matter how sick, tired, depressed, pissed off, fat or bloated you feel, a $3,000 check in the mail makes everything AL-RIGHT, LOL.

6.  I think I have a thing for undecipherable diction LOL.  If you are super country, extremely Latin, or I otherwise always have to ask you to repeat what you just said, you might have a shot LOL.  Finally I understand my obsession with Wilmer Valderama LOL.

7.  Bet some of yall aint know Scarface with Al Pacino was a remake, huh?  The original from 1932 was on this weekend, and I must say:  people "died" a lot more creatively in the movies back then, LOL.  Nigga just get shot and slide face-first down a flight of stairs, LOL.  Ooooh and the guy that played Rinaldo in this one is FOINE! LOL.  "Tony Camonte" (the original) aint had nothing on "Tony Montana" though.  When they changed liquor and prohibition to coke and drug cartels, they pumped up the volume bigtime.  HUGE difference.  HUGE.

8. I hate holidays for one reason:  I hate mass holiday text messaging.  Why is it that people you dont even talk to any more or havent seen in forever text you on Mother's Day like yall boys?  I think some people sit around all day going "who else got kids?  oh she got kids, let me text her too…aint seen her since sophomore year, but let me text her too" LOL.  Knock it off.

9.  Funniest movie line ever:  Big Boi in "ATL":  "That is SO disrespectful…. you done hit me in my mouth with some gotdamn money." LMAOOOOOOOOO.  Ok, maybe I was just drunk at the time.

let me start off by saying.. today is my monday and my thursday of the week. i havent been here since sunday- and i only have to work today and tomorrow. so my fuse (tho it shouldnt be) is kinda short because i dont want to be here @ all.

I. in the year of 07- i have bought 4 tubes or those clorox wipes for work. over the course of the year, i was able to use maybe 10 of them. i come back to work today and i have 2 left AGAIN. (this tube i just opened last week). now am i worng to tell folks to get thier own? i mean its jsut a wipe- but damn it i dont pay for shit for yall mfs to use it all up before i get any real use out of it. people trying to tell me i'm trippin- butthese the same folks that never have cigarettes (but smoke more than me), never have lunch money (but want to order $7 worth of food for breakfast), always need a ride (but act brand new if you ask for gas money)… these moochin mfs are pissing me off

II. i burnt the hot lava shit out my scalp this morning touching up my hair with a flat iron. i have reason to belive that there will be a .5in/.5 in bald patch in my head by tomorrow… and ai JSUT got my shit back to healthy

 III. this mixed boy that deep inside is white as snow, but wants to talk like hes king of the hood wont stop talking to me. hes a nice guy, but honestly- he gets on my nerves.

IV. my phone wont ring. i make money off of the phone ringing, and it wont ring. bastids need to order something.

V i'm back on the pill as of Monday- the sudden rush of hormones is causing me massive issues

VI- i tried to smoke to calm down and this bitch that i dont like ran up to hug me (i guess white people get antsy if they cant bother you daily and feel the need to run up and hug you if you are out of the office for a few days) and the heifer snapped my cigarette- not in the middle so i could work it out at least for a few puffs- but right by the filter- cant even fix it….

VII its jeans day and if one more person confuses jeans day with 'get dressed for the club before you come to work' day, i'ma scream. the fact that we can all see your cervix in that denim skirt you have on is the reason they trip on the rest of us wearing jeans and a decent top- knock it off!

VIII. i think i'm still in love with my ex. the possiblity of that being true is making me throw up in my mouth. hopefully its just that i was jsut with his fam and it got me reminciant and this will pass. i dont think i could stomache trying again with this dude.
