Below are just a few of the sites I visit from time to time, as well as articles that I think are worthy of Black women's attention. As I browsed the internet today and yesterday I could not help but notice the amount of anguish many sistas seem to be feeling simply because a stranger, Reggie Bush, had chosen to take up with a woman who was not of his ethnicity (Kim Kardashian). Black Female Interracial Marriage is a blog I visit quite often because I believe the owner truly has a love for her sistas and wants to see them happy, content and fulfilled. Sometimes that fulfillment may come from a man who looks like you- but sometimes it wont. Date A White Guy is another blog I visit on occasion, and again, I believe the owner posts a lot of information that Black women need to hear. I post these links sistas not to persuade you to date outside your race or look for love in places you may not ordinarily have thought to, but rather to let you know that you too have what Reggie Bush and so many other Black men- options.

So you guys shoot me a theory. Why is it that Black women are so reluctant to taste a different flava? Damn if Baskin Robbins has 31 Flavas - then America has no telling how many. I told my hubby if anything EVER happens to us - I am getting me a spoon and Ima be line like Dippin Dots - "Can I get sample?"

So I was on the radio this morning (I get such a kick outta that LOL) and I thought I would pose the question to the blog….   who flirts more at work, men or women?

IMO, both do it, but women are just much more obvious.  Women that flirt at work have other women sitting around in the breakroom rolling their eyes and gossipping about how so-and-so was pouring herself all over somebody.  Women also dress the part when they have their eye on somebody at the job.  The heels get higher, the skirts get shorter and the necklines plunge to hell.

The craziest thing to me about flirting in the workplace is that some people have a whole other husband or wife at work LOL.  They are just joined at the hip, dont do lunch with nobody but each other, and any time there is conversation regarding the teaming up of people or coordination of events, both people's names have to be mentioned simultaneously LOL.  Dont even think about being in his or her cube when the other person comes around.  They will shoot you a look like 'why are you in here with my man/woman?' and when there is a fallout between the two people, the whole office shuts down LOL.  That shit is hilarious to me.

Anyway, what do yall think?  Who flirts more at work?  CJP, we already know who flirts the most at your job LOL…..

Ya'll know Arianna Huffington the thick accented woman who goes on TV as a political pundit.  You've probably seen her on one of Bill Maher's shows if you happen to watch them.

Anywho…

Arianna has yet another anti-Hillary post up pertaining to a new book by Jeff Gerth and Don Van Natta, Jr. called Her Way:The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton. (Jeff Gerth being infamous for his Whitewater reporting, among other things)

That's all well and good, but first I just want to raise a couple of issues:

1. Is it 'smart' for 'progressives' to attack Democratic candidates in preference of another Democrat?
2. Is it 'smart' for 'progressives' to leverage certain attacks against certain candidates, while giving a pass to others regarding the same issue.
3. Is is 'smart' for 'progressives' to rely upon 'unofficial' biographies to gain insight into a politician's 'ambitions', then use that 'insight' to attack that politician.

Back to Arianna's post though.

As you should know, Congress recently voted on a supplemental funding bill, with Obama and Clinton voting against it.

I been on a Memorial Day Hiatus. I caught this lil story on another blog site called brownsista.com - I don't think it is 100% true but I do think it hold a lot of merit. As I am working on my Masters I have been toying with a million topics about race and pop culture - this is one that caught my eye and could be a possible candidate for one of my topics.

What's your take?

Fellow blogger Clay Kane wrote an interesting piece on his site that got me to thinking about an article I started writing some months ago but eventually abandoned. Clay, in his article, wonders why there are so few Black women on the Billboard charts but quite a few White women who have what I like to call that Black Girl Flava? Now some time ago I predicted that the influx of White women into r&b music, with the help of Black male producers, would lead to the demise of Black women on the charts. And now that the chickens have essentially come home to roost, I think now is the perfect time to talk about why only Beyonce and Corrine Bailey Rae- who is biracial- are the only two so called Black women who have songs in the Hot 100.

Now the first thing we are going to have to do is realize that the replacement of Black women on the charts is linked to the replacement of Black women in other areas as well. And even though sistas many not be dominating the charts as we once did, women who sing, dance and basically have been taught to emulate us are. But I am getting a bit ahead of myself so let's go back a bit.

The replacement of Black women in our community, via it radio, television or video is nothing new. Just think about BET which is only about 25 years. Like most Black stations it hired Black women. Naturally they were all fair, but they were at least Black. The new BET however seems to only hire Hispanic women. All the sistas have been replaced and as always- no one says a thing.

The music video is another place where you used to see Black women paired with Black men. This is natural right? Well apparently for us it is not which is why again, you see the once light-skin and occasional brown skin sista, has now been replaced with Hispanic, Asian and even White women. Don't act like you didn't notice the lack of sistas in recently released videos by Fabulous and Bobby Valentino.

Sad isn't it?

Quick question. Why can't black and brown skin men be paired with black and brown skinned women? Why does it seem the Black woman is seen as an un-natural choice to play the love interest of Black men in their videos?

Moving right along.

Print ads. I was browsing through Vibe some months ago and the hip hop clothing ads immediately popped out at me. What I noticed as always were displays of wealthy, formerly from the hood brothas, who had now made it. Making it as seen in these ads involve money, cars, a fabulous house- and a woman who doesn't look a damn thing like the man in the ad or any woman in his family. Success as it is being sold to Black males does not include Black and brown females.

Diddy's ads in particular are a clear indicator of this. The original ads for his Unforgivable fragrance showed him with not one but two women- one White the other Asian. Fame and success are once again linked to women who are not Black- and who doesn't want all the trappings of fame and success?

Rap and R n' B videos are nothing but visual dreams of the perfect Black man's life and we- Black women- are almost always absent in that dream. We have been replaced.

This leads me right back to the absence of Black women on the charts but not their style and flava. Polow da Don Coon even bragged in King Magazine that he was the first to "Take White girls to Black clubs and give them that flava". Black girl flava that is. He took them to the clubs to watch how the Black girls do it because history has show us time and time again, that White people who can emulate Black people will sell more records. Just ask Elvis and Eminem.

To keep the music thing going. Can anyone explain Amy addicted to heroin Winehouse to me? This toothless White woman has gotten ten times more press and attention on Black sites than India Arie and Heather Headley combined when they released their albums. Even an ugly White woman can get more support from Black folks than 2 dark skin Black sistas.

Yes I said it. The color issue. We never want to talk about it but we know it exists and Clay asked in his article as well if many sistas were being kept off the charts because of their brown and black coloring. I say hell yeah! and someone else seems to agree with me.

So until we can admit to ourselves that for years we have been replacing Black women with watered down multi-racial versions of other women we will never see and understand why Black women are disappearing from television, radio, print, video and everything else in between. There has always been a movement to devalue Blackness and Black women in particular. This move included exalting fair complected women to the heights of beauty in our communities. But here is the problem. Those women were only used because they resembled White women. But they are no longer needed as the real thing can now be had. So this is why not even being light skin is enough these days.

Ten years from now there won't be another Beyonce. Just as Britney Spears (before she went psycho) was catapulted to fame because she could dance Black (Y'all didn't fall for those Madonna comparisons did you? Even Britney herself admitted to cloning Janet) so shall other White artists male and female. But things always start with us. No one bats an eyelash when Black women are replaced and if Black women themselves complain they are accused of being jealous.

So sit back and let that rotate through your cerebellum for a bit. The truth hurts- but somebody has got to tell it.

Bogus condoms a Trojan horse

It is one of the strangest cases of buyer beware - fake Trojan Magnum condoms are flooding bodegas in Harlem.

The counterfeit condoms have been sold for weeks at corner delis and groceries, even though the condom-maker has tried to stamp out the practice.

The packaging looks identical to the real thing, but the imitations come in flimsy plastic wrap instead of the sturdier aluminum foil that surrounds authentic Magnums.

The fakes are smaller than the real thing and have a sweet perfume smell that the originals don't.

"It's not right, but what can you do about it?" said Badu Sall, 22, of Harlem. "When you need condoms quick, you buy them where you can."

The Daily News had no trouble finding the apparently bogus rubbers in several delis uptown.

"I use that brand. It's crazy," said Fotupapa Lo, 34, a barber from Harlem. "The ones I use are not that small - and they don't smell funny."

The manufacturer said it has moved aggressively to prevent stores from selling counterfeit rubbers and to buy from reputable suppliers.

"We urge consumers to buy Magnum brand condoms from trusted retailers," parent company Church & Dwight said in a statement released yesterday. "We cannot vouch for the safety and efficacy of counterfeit products."

Bodega owner Sallah Alqublani insisted he cleared all the fake condoms off his shelves after being notified by the maker of Trojans.

Still, the condoms he sold at the Star Deli on W. 116th St. yesterday showed telltale signs of being phonies.

"I had no idea," Alqublani, 31, said. "We took everything down and bought new stuff."

A Couple Tried to Rip Off Ashanti And Nia Long

A couple charged with stealing the identity of a pop star and an actress pleaded not guilty this morning in federal court. Shameika Drain Curry and Charles B. Curry Jr., both 28, are charged with identity theft, mail fraud and bank fraud.

The Currys are charged with defrauding several people, including Grammy Award-winning hip-hop performer Ashanti and actress Nia Long, to illegally purchase cars, obtain credit cards and write bogus checks.

I just threw this one in for good measure cause I thought it was funny…

Trina And Wayne Boned Last Night

Last night Lil Wayne was performing at "Miami Live" doing his song "Prostitute", that goes , "I wouldn't care if you were a prostitute as long as you were true to me" or something like that. Anyway, around the second verse, Wayne starts directing his attention to Trina, who was in the audience, pointing at her and singing to her. Then he called her up to the stage. Trina started doing her song "Here We Go", but she was so into Wayne that she forgot the words. She just stopped rapping and they stared into each other's eyes for like 30 seconds, then started hugging, and kissing and crying saying, "I miss you, I love you! The packed house went wild, screaming and throwing champagne in the air. Wayne left the club after that and a few minutes later Trina left too. Now I'm not saying they back together, but they definitely boned last night.
